The Freightliner eCascadia is an innovative electric semi-truck introduce by Diamler Trucks North America. This eco- friendly vehicle represents a significant step toward sustainable transportation in the freight industry. The eCascadia is equipped with advanced battery technology, offering impressive range on single charge. Seem like a somewhat good idea for trucking in my opinion, but with the supply chain shortages, and lack of material to produce parts for repairs is it really a step forward? Lets take a look into what this industry leading semi truck manufacture thinks and what caused them to put a stop to production.
As much as I was excited to see and learn about these trucks, I just don’t think the trucking industry or the country is ready for electric trucks or vehicles. The government was trying to make a change to fast without enough data and research. Maybe try adding EV to auto and trucking industry gradually, which would allow us to see how well they perform under certain conditions. I have been hearing about exploration of hydrogen engines but once again I don’t think we are ready to mass produce vehicles that will only rely that. Internal combustion engines aren’t going anywhere anytime soon if you ask me. What are your thoughts?
